Robert studied Liberal Arts & Sciences at Leiden University College in The Hague and holds an MA by research in History from the University of Amsterdam. As a student he worked on various projects based on Dutch colonial migration trajectories at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam and roamed around various museums as a host and tour guide to satisfy his love for history. Although his mind often wanders in the past, he gets excited by technological advancements and their societal impact. He is urgently aware that there is no history without a future.
When not reading biographies of grey old men or catching up on the latest political news, Robert likes to restore old furniture, tries to finish long due DIY project or cycles towards Belgium to spend long sunny afternoons with trappist beer for meditative purposes. You can always hit him up for long train travels in the former Soviet Union.
